Safety equipment for the professional event

When you arrange a professional event or participate in one using a marquee or pop-up gazebo, safety plays a vital role! That is why you always have to take into consideration the ratio between weight and surface – and check the weather forecast before setting up the tent. The reason for this is, that a marquee or pop-up gazebo is a bit like a sail on a boat: Lightweight, strong and with a large surface. In short, the wind can take hold of the cover of your tent and move it! Even one of our large marquees - which is stable and looks heavy when you look at it - will move or turn over if the wind is strong enough and the wind gets hold of the cover. That is why you need to use one or more Safety Packs when using a marquee or similar at any event.

Our Safety Packs contain all you need

An important part of our safety equipment is the strong and efficient Safety Packs. The packs include storm straps and storm pegs for securing most of our various marquees, pop-up gazebos and other kinds of tents. The safety packs can also be used for our sturdy storage tents and portable garage tents. A large and elegant marquee shelters you from the rain, the sun and even cold weather if you place a heater or two inside the marquee. With our Safety Packs, you can secure your marquee with strong storm straps and ground pegs. The same goes for our storage tents and for our FleXtents® pop-up gazebos, which also can be secured by using storm straps and ground pegs. For the pop-up gazebos, our weight discs and sandbags may sometimes be a more flexible solution.

How to use our Safety Packs

Make sure that the straps are secured tightly to the frame of the structure. Also be sure that the ground pegs are hammered safely into the ground – or tied safely to a tree or similar. Finally, make room around the marquee and more to fasten the storm straps – you will need app. 2-4 metres extra on all four sides of the tent so you have room for the storm straps and ground pegs. You can also secure the straps to firm objects like buildings, large trees or similar. In case of windy weather, you must expect severe pulls so be sure to fasten the straps to solid and stable objects only! We recommend 4 storm straps for smaller marquees and pop-up gazebos and 6 straps or more large structures 8 metres. Note! Please check the weather forecast before putting up a marquee or a pop-up gazebo!

Marquees and pop-up gazebos with fire certificates

When you participate in professional events like a fair or market, you usually need a marquee or pop-up gazebo with a fire certificate for safety reasons. If your marquee or pop-up gazebo do not have a fire certificate, you will not be allowed to take part in the event. Rules apart, flame retardant covers are also a way to protect your guests and your employees. So choose a professional marquee or pop-up gazebos with flame retardant sidewalls and roof cover, which has a fire certificate to apply with European standards – just to be safe!
